Thefire bowlis made of cast iron and is therefore fireproof (does not warp) and less susceptible to rust than, for example, sheet steel. The fire bowl can also be used separately from the GrillRing. Thesquare Corten steel ringthat can be placed under the fire bowl not only provides extra stability, but also makes it possible to tilt the fire bowl into the 'Egg position' for a better view of the fire. TheGrillRingis made of high-quality (8 mm) hardened steel. The steel has been made stress-free by heat treatment, which minimizes the risk of warping and makes the surface robust and scratch-resistant. The GrillRing 'floats' in the dish, so to speak, so that anyexcess oil or fat is always drained directly into the dish. The distance to the edge of the bowl also allows air supply so that the flames can fully develop. The GrillRing is height adjustable and optionally available with grill slots. The grill slots ensure that your dish has direct contact with the fire and acquires the traditional smoky flavor and grill marks.
TheTop PROis a Corten steel cover plate with a drip edge that ensures that the GrillRing and bowl are shielded from rain and prevents any ash and sparks from blowing away. As soon as the plate is placed on the bowl, the fire is immediately extinguished and you can leave the fire place with peace of mind. Thanks to the Top, the fire bowl can also be used as a table. TheWoodstockis a column of Corten steel measuring 40 x 40 x 75 cm, which not only raises the GrillRing to the desired cooking height, but also provides the option of storing wood. You can also set up the Woodstock horizontally and thus bring the bowl to sitting height. The set is delivered in non-rusted condition. If you want to accelerate the natural rusting process, you can do this yourself with a slightly corrosive agent such as a vinegar-water mixture.

Gietijzer is een ideaal materiaal voor een vuurschaal, omdat het vuurvast is (niet kromtrekt) en minder roestgevoelig dan bijvoorbeeld staal. Bij stalen vuurschalen slijt er bij verhitting telkens een laagje af, wat de levensduur verkort. Door zijn duurzaamheid wordt gietijzer ook veel gebruikt voor motorblokken, kachels en haarden.
Cortenstaal, ook wel bekend als weervast staal, is een metaallegering van ijzer met koper, fosfor, silicium, nikkel en chroom. De sterkte is vergelijkbaar met die van andere gelegeerde staalsoorten, zoals roestvrij staal. Kenmerkend voor Cortenstaal is de bruinoranje roestkleur en de lange levensduur. Dit komt doordat de eerste corrosielaag verdere roestvorming tegengaat. Cortenstaal wordt gebruikt voor diverse toepassingen, zoals kunstwerken, gevelbekleding en tuindecoratie. Daarnaast is de op één na grootste hangbrug ter wereld van Cortenstaal gemaakt. Dankzij de unieke eigenschappen van dit materiaal is schilderen niet nodig.
Roestvast staal (RVS), ook bekend als roestvrij staal of inox, is een legering van hoofdzakelijk ijzer, chroom, nikkel en koolstof. Om als roestvast staal te worden beschouwd, moet het minimaal 11–12% chroom en maximaal 1,2% koolstof bevatten. Daarnaast kunnen elementen zoals molybdeen, titanium, mangaan, stikstof en silicium aanwezig zijn.
Co-Fire gebruikt RVS 420 voor zijn BBQ-roosters.
Tips om te starten
Gebruik goed gedroogd hout zoals eiken, beuken, essen of berk.
Maximale dikte: 10 cm (dun gekloofd hout brandt beter).
Vermijd papier, plastic en verlijmd hout vanwege giftige dampen.
Om het roestproces te vertragen, kunt u de schaal insmeren met plantaardige olie. Dit dicht de poreuze gaatjes bij verhitting en verhoogt de duurzaamheid, vooral aan de binnenkant.
Een afdekplaat ("The Top") beschermt de schaal en verlengt de levensduur aanzienlijk.
De GrillRing wordt roestvrij geleverd. Maak hem schoon met water en vet hem direct in om roestvorming te voorkomen.
Gebruik een olie met een hoge verbrandingsgraad (>180°C), zoals olijfolie.
Stook het eerste half uur met een klein vuur zodat de GrillRing zich kan zetten. Dit minimaliseert kromtrekken.
Na inbranden wordt de ring zwart en is hij klaar voor gebruik.
