The cast iron fire bowl is a quality product, especially if you burn regularly. Cast iron is the best material for fire bowls because it is refractory (does not warp) and is less susceptible to rust than sheet steel, for example.
Cast iron is a molded alloy of iron, carbon (2.56%) manganese and silicon. It is produced by smelting pig iron together with coke and lime in a cupola furnace, induction furnace or a drum furnace. Due to the roughness of the shape, the appearance of a cast iron object is clearly recognizable as such.
Cast iron is the best material for a fire bowl, because it is refractory (does not warp) and is less susceptible to rust than steel, for example. In addition, with steel fire bowls you burn off a layer every time you heat them, which does not improve their durability. Cast iron is therefore frequently used in engine blocks, stoves and fireplaces.
